Rising tennis star Jake Hersey enjoyed a successful week in the Under-14 Nike Junior Tour National Clay Court Championships reaching both the doubles and singles finals.
He managed to take the doubles title with partner Harry Butler 6-3, 6-2, but narrowly lost out in the singles final 1-6, 6-4, 6-4.
The week-long tournament gave Hersey some much-needed time on clay before a busy schedule which starts this weekend when he joins up for training with the national squad.
He is then due to represent GB individually at the Windmill Cup in Holland and the European Championships in Czech Republic.
He is also a part of a team of three players in the Summer Cup in Spain which, if they qualify, would see them go to the World Team Championships.
Hersey has recently started entering ITF tournaments, which enable under-18s to gain international experience at the next level of competition, and he has responded to the challenge extremely well.
