World title hopes for Hunt and England A

POOL player Roger Hunt will be competing in the Seniors World Championships at Blackpool at the end of June - hoping England A can successfully defend their crown.

Also the current European champions, it will be Roger’s fourth time in the England A team, having been selected after trials in Leicester last week.

The four-man squad will be facing tough competition from England B, two teams from Scotland and Ireland, India, West Indies, Australia and South Africa.

Roger, who is practising hard for the 8-ball tournament, is grateful to his sponsors Heaphys, Terry Grayer Services, Stonewall security, the Victoria Inn, Quigleys and Hunts bookshop for their support.

He is also entering the world singles championship, hoping to go one better than his two semi-final defeats to the eventual champions in 2008 and 2009.
