Princethorpe College netballers are on a high having achieved a magnificent weekend’s play at County and National tournaments.
The hot shot U18s stormed their way to their sixth consecutive Independent Schools’ National title having beaten Hull Collegiate, Bolitho School and Claire Court. With a stunning total of 87 goals scored by the Princethorpe girls their dominance of the court was unquestioned. Princethorpe College netball coach Mrs Louise Harrison championed their cause,
“The squad played some seriously impressive netball. They adapted well to their opponents but stayed strong as a team and this paid dividends with the national crown coming home to Princethorpe again.”
The U16 and U14 teams also played convincingly throughout their National tournaments. Both teams were worthy semi finalists coming third overall against some well matched opposition. Not to be outdone by their older team mates Princethorpe’s up and coming U12 team put on a brave show at the Warwickshire County tournament.
They too reached the semi finals by beating Henley 15-1,Stratford High 12-3 and then losing to Higham in the group stage 6-7 before then being beaten in the semis by the eventual tournament winners Kings High. Team coach Mrs Debs Brookes praised the resilience and team work of the young squad.
