Rugby Lions were without a game because of a waterlogged pitch at Old Coventrians in Midlands 3 West (South) where five teams are still in contention for promotion. In the only other re-arranged game played, Southam beat Woodrush 26-6 to go top with 57 points. Evesham are second, also on 57 with Lions third with 56, Old Covs next with 53 and Ledbury fifth with 52. Southam and Ledbury have both played an extra game.

Rugby Welsh went out of the Clonmel Cup, 24-8 to Long Buckby 2nds at Alwyn Road. Welsh put up a spirited performance, but were knocked out by a well drilled Long Buckby outfit.

Next weekend third-placed Welsh are back in Midlands 5 West (South) action against second-placed Keresley.

Rugby St Andrews 1sts didn’t have a game on Saturday, but host St Neots next weekend in a Midlands 3 East (South) fixture. Saints are fifth in the table, and St Neots ninth.
