The evening was opened by Ian Davis, Executive Director at Rugby Borough Council, followed by a look back at 2012 by Sport & Recreation Manager Caroline Johnson, with clips from London 2012 and the Olympic Torch Relay on its way through Rugby School and the town centre.
The special guest of the evening was ParalympicGB star, Sam Ruddock who gave an open and sincere question and answer session. The former Rugby School student gave the audience an insight in to his London 2012 experiences, the transition from America Football to track athletics and his motivation to get to Rio 2016. With the audience full of young sporting hopefuls, Sam was able to offer a true reflection of his time on the world’s biggest stage.
