RFU Junior Vase Final: Longlevens 23 Rugby Lions 12

Although they may not have come home with the silverware, Lions did the ‘Home of the Game’ proud and it was an unforgettable day for the club and the hundreds of supporters who made the trip to Twickenham.

Lions tries came from Chris Easton and Robert Walton as the team gave everything in the Twickenham sunshine.

It has been an incredible season for the side, who started virtually from scratch last summer. They not only finished the league season in Midlands 5 West (South) as unbeaten champions on maximum points, they were Midlands Junior Vase champions after that epic game at Long Buckby and beat Goole in the semi-final at Webb Ellis Road to earn a well-deserved place in the RFU cup finals day history books.
