Old Laurentians and Lions stay top of their tables

It was a great weekend in the league again for all Rugby’s first teams - and although Rugby Welsh went down 18-3 to Midlands 5 West (South) leaders Birmingham Civil Service, they pushed them all the way and prevented them earning the bonus point.

Old Laurentians maintained their number one spot in Midlands 2 West (South) beating Leamington 31-20 at Fenley Field. Second placed Newbold also had an excellent win, beating Nuneaton Old Edwardians 53-15 away.

In Midlands 3 East (South) Rugby St Andrews were victorious 30-28 at John Tomalin Way and are up to fourth in the division.

And in Midlands 4 West (South) Rugby Lions stretched the gap at the top of the table to seven points, ahead of Evesham and Claverdon. They won their ‘top two’ clash with a tough Claverdon 16-3 at Webb Ellis Road.
