OLs climb to fourth from bottom with third win of year

Old Laurentians produced an excellent 41-3 win over Stoke on Trent in Midlands One, to lift them to fourth from bottom in the table, ahead of Barkers Butts, Berkswell & Balsall and Market Bosworth.

St Andrews’ game at St Ives was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

Struggling Rugby Welsh notched up a great 17-15 win against high-flying Warwickians in Midlands 5 West (South).

Wellesbourne were unable to name an experienced front row trio for Saturday’s Midlands 5 West (South) game at Webb Ellis Road, and the game was awarded to Lions. But the two sides played a friendly, with Lions lending the visitors players, that was ended by a hailstorm half way through.

Rugby Lionesses defended hard, but narrowly lost their muddy game with Keresley 7-10.
