The Rugby Lions Minis and Juniors held two separate end of season award events, with first team players and coach to present their trophies.
Both ceremonies started with a short address by Minis & Juniors Chairman Rob Williams who outlined the season as being one of change following the takeover of the club by Mike Aland.
Rob said he was looking forward to next season as a year of consolidation and general improvement in all aspects of the club. He thanked the committee for their dedication throughout what was a comparatively turbulent year at the club.
The Friday Night presentation was to the Juniors’ age groups. Two members of the senior team, Harry Ellis and Frankie Fenwick-Wilson, presented the awards. Both having been former M’s &J’s players who had worked their way into the senior Squad.
The Junior’s awards went to:
U13s: Most Improved Player – Oliver Lee, Players Player – Sam Lockley, Coaches Player – Ryan Beau-Mont.
U14s: Most Improved Player – Elliot Morgan, Players Player – Liam Deery, Coaches Player – Sam Elliot.
U16s: Most Improved Player – Adam Jones, Players Player – James Neil, Coaches Player – Josh Lockley
The Minis held their awards on the Sunday morning with Rugby Lions Head Coach Neil Back taking time out from the club’s preparations for the Warwickshire cup final to present the trophies and medals to the young Lions.
The Minis’ awards went to:
U7s: Most Improved Player- Conor Postlethwaite, Players Player – Dominic Evans, Coaches Player – Archie Burdett.
U8s: Most Improved Player – Luke Randall, Most Enthusiastic Player – Ben Ballard, Most Committed Player – Michael Deery.
U9s: Most Improved Player – Dan Watkins, Players Player – Lewis Clarke, Coaches Player – Ben Walker.
U11s: Most Improved Player - Amadeusz Biziorek & Toros Ercan, Dark Horse Award – Sam Mcleod, Players Player – Ethan Walker, Coaches Player – Adam Williams.
U12s: Most Improved Player – Jimmy Boughey, Players Player – Ben Downing, Coaches Player – Jack Wolliscroft.
The Chairman’s End of Season Award went to U16s Team Manager– Andrew Hunter. For his exemplary dedication to the role of Team Manager and his regular appearances at Club Committee Meetings.
