Under 13s selected for Developing Player Programme

Four Princethorpe College Year 8 rugby players have been selected to join Worcester Warriors U13 Rugby DPP. Freddie Brooker, Sebastian Dibb, Ben Shipton and Harry Horsley were chosen to take part in the programme following an afternoon’s rugby tournament held at Old Leamingtonians pitches on September 25th. These four will join six of their classmates: Sam Warne, Charlie Bracken, George Evans, Oscar Blunsom-Washbrook and Connor Cooke who had already been selected as part of the Wasps DPP.

The Worcester contingent will train at Old Leamingtonians each Monday evening with coaches focusing on developing young players’ match play, skills and physical conditioning. Each of the boys are part of the College’s undefeated U13 ‘A’ team who last year won every match they played racking up a total of 144 tries. So far this season the four, who also play for Old leamingtonians, have also remain unchallenged.

Princethorpe College Master in Charge of Rugby, Pete Bucknall added: “Mr Bower’s U13 ‘A’ team are well equipped here with ten players having caught the scout’s eye. The lads will make the most of this opportunity to gain additional coaching and we look forward to seeing that extra pitch time pay dividends as the remaining season unfolds.”
