Intriguing tie as Lions visit in Warwickshire Shield

Following pre season trial games in August against Pinley and Newbold, Saints first competitive game will be against Rugby Lions at Ashlawn Road on Saturday, September 6 in the first round of the Warwickshire Shield competition. This promises to be an intriguing tie with Saints still rebuilding with a young side and Rugby coming off a highly successful return to league rugby last year.

The following week sees Saints start their league programme in East Midlands 3 with a home game against Northampton Mens Own, over whom they did the double last year, albeit by flattering margins.

With a number of key experienced players still unavailable through injury or work commitments there are first team places up for grabs. Any players looking for a new challenge are welcome to come along to any pre season training sessions which are held at Ashlawn Road on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm.
