Junior rugby sessions shortlisted for award
ScrumKids are celebrating reaching the finals of the 2014 International What’s On 4 Junior Awards.
Selected from 85 nominees, ScrumKids has been shortlisted in the category of ‘Best activity for under 5s’ for their rugby-based sports sessions.
It was the brainchild of Rugby’s Mark and Clare Tovey and Stefan and Eleanor de Bruin, who teamed up to start running the classes for children aged two to seven last year in Dunchurch.
Run by qualified coaches who guide children through activities designed to promote their agility, coordination, fitness and love of the game, the sessions proved extremely popular and just a year later, the club operates in eight different locations throughout the Midlands.
Eleanor de Bruin said: “We are thrilled to have reached the finals, especially as it was all voted for by the parents.
“All of our fantastic coaches, and the ScrumKids team, work really hard to deliver fun and engaging rugby sessions for little ones, so to know that the ScrumKids and parents are loving what we do makes us all extremely happy.”
Partner Clare Tovy and lead coach, Sam Chambers will attend the glittering awards ceremony next Friday at the Drayton Manor Hotel. Hosted by Lucy Piper, TV presenter and model.
