Victory for OLs, Newbold, Lions and Lionesses

Old Laurentians moved up to fifth from bottom on Midlands 1 West with a 32-19 win over Walsall at Fenley Field.

Newbold consolidated their second spot in Midlands 2 East (South), returning home from Leicester Forest with a 53-3 win. After 17 games Leighton Buzzard are still out in front on 82 points, with Newbold on 70 points and third place Wellingborough on 54 but with two games in hand.

Rugby St Andrews lost 17-6 at Stockwood Park, who are now fourth in Midlands 3 East (South). Saints have slipped to seventh, but have one or two games in hand over the sides above them.

At the top of Midlands 5 West (South) Rugby Lions made it 12 wins out of 12, with their 67-0 victory at Birmingham Exiles. Lions have a maximum 60 points, with Warwickians and Birmingham Exiles second and third on 35.

At the other end of the table, Rugby Welsh just missed out again, narrowly beaten 26-20 at Wellesbourne.

Rugby Lionesses had a good day, winning 84-7 against Dudley Kingswinford.
