Barnacle Village Hall is hosting The Tim Kliphuis Trio at 7.30pm. Tim is a classically trained and awarding-winning musician from Holland who performs with his trio in the style of his hero, jazz violinist Stephane Grappelli.

Lynda Burton, who is promoting the show, said: “Tim and his trio have toured from Canada to Russia, from Scotland to South Africa and now they are appearing in Barnacle.

“He is an inspiring performer, composer and educator. The trio are known for their electrifying performances and remarkable audience rapport and we are promised a superb musical evening which is not to be missed.”

The programme includes music from the Django Reinhardt days and Grappelli’s years as a world-famous jazz star.

Nigel Kennedy has said of the group: “The music of Grappelli is alive and well in the hands of Tim Kliphuis and his musicians.”

The trio, in which Tim is joined by Nigel Clark on guitar and Roy Percy on double bass, are firm favourites on the jazz festival scene having been performing together worldwide for nearly 10 years.
