ONE of Rugby’s most popular bands will join new psychedelic space rockers at a town centre gig night.

The 7.20s and the Grim Fandango, plus DJs, will all make for one big night of music at Bar Verve in Rugby on Friday, October 21.

The 7.20s are a five-piece band who formed in 2007 and have been hailed as the best band to emerge from Rugby since Spiritualized. Critically acclaimed, the band have been well received both in Rugby and nationally, enjoying airplay on BBC Radio 1.

They describe themselves as “atmospheric, powerful, emotive, dance, schizophrenic, beautiful, tight, moody, energetic, the 7.20’s”. Having completed some summer festival slots and high profile gigs organisers are looking forward to welcoming them back to Bar Verve.

From Rugby, The Grim Fandango are a new psychedelic space rocking band who utilise trancing riffs and spacey rhythms for a truly big sound. They are currently preparing to record their first album but in the meantime have two EPs available for free download on their Facebook profile.

At the gig night, presented by Kerascene Productions, the Grim Fandango will play first from 10pm to 10.30pm, followed by the 7.20s taking the headline spot from 11pm to 11.40pm. Doors open at 9.30pm and admission is free into the North Street venue.
