The Loft Sessions returns to the Style Bar in North Street, Rugby tonight (Thursday) with three fine session musicians – Dean Beresford, who drums for Richard Hawley, Al Gare, who plays bass in Imelda May’s band, and Oliver Darling, a guitarist and vocalist with Tinita Tikaram. Rugby Male Voice Choir will be holding their annual Christmas Concert on Saturday December at 7.30pm in St George’s Church, St John’s Avenue, Hillmorton. The concert will be raising funds for the mayor’s charity Rugby First Responders. Guest soloists are Russell Hopkins and Liz West. Tickets are £7 including refreshments.
Rugby Area Talent Trust have organised a Christmas party featuring three local bands and live music from three great decades of music. The event is on Sunday December 20 at the Hillmorton Road Railway Club in Rugby.The Decades Christmas party will include a set of hits from the 1960s from The Midnite Function Band, a session of 1970s rock classics from Liquid Insanity, and an upbeat visit to the 1980s by Sound Effects. The evening will be rounded off with dancing to Christmas hits. Decades will also be raising funds for Rugby Area Talent Trust – also known as RATT - and all three bands have given their time and talent to support the charity.
