Starting with a free quiz on Monday at 8pm, the Bowie On Avon event continues on Tuesday with a live screening of the Victoria and Albert Museum’s David Bowie Is Happening Now exhibition at 7pm (to be repeated on Sunday August 18 at noon). The screening, which includes an introduction by curators Victoria Broackes and Geoffrey Marsh and special guests offering insights into the David Bowie Archive, will be the last opportunity for people to experience the exhibition before it goes on international tour.

Other highlights during the week include free music and film events, themed cocktails - and ‘Bowie-oke’, a themed karaoke night on Friday August 16 at 9pm.

The week ends with a charity ‘Bowie-becue’ (barbecue), vinyl party and film poster sale, with proceeds going to children’s charity PlanUK.

Picturehouse manager Tom Roberts said: “We’re very excited to be hosting the David Bowie Is Happening Now event. David Bowie is such an iconic artist that we felt there was far more we could do to celebrate these screenings.”
