Uncle Vanya, Belgrade Theatre, Coventry. On until Saturday April 23. Box office 024 7655 3055.
INTERNATIONALLY-acclaimed director Helena Kaut-Howson doesn’t disappoint in this langorous, captivating production of Chekov’s classic play, Uncle Vanya.
Misplaced love, hope and thwarted passion are all on display in slow rotation.

Despite the length of the play, the actors unfailingly hold the attention especially in the intimacy of the Belgrade’s studio setting where the design of the stage is simply superb.
Verdict: Thoughtful theatre at its best.
