Painting for pleasure

A £15,000 grant has been used to set up art sessions for adults from south Leamington who would like to gain skills in drawing and painting - and make friends. The arts group, based in the Westbury Centre, uses art to help people. It received funding, using money raised by Health Thrive CIC, through The Health Lottery.

Painting for Pleasure will use the money to deliver a weekly arts session on Wednesdays during term time with the aim of producing an illustrated booklet called First Steps to Health, detailing local services.

It is in association with the People’s Health Trust, an
independent charity addressing health inequalities across Great Britain. The charity works with community-interest groups distributing grants.
