It will be staged by Propeller, the all-male Shakespeare company, which mixes a rigorous approach to the text, influenced by mask work, animation, classic and modern film and music from all ages.

Called Pocket Comedy, it is a distillation of its hugely successful The Comedy of Errors – Shakespeare’s funniest and most farcical comedy.

In the Bard’s tale two sets of estranged twins, separated at birth, find themselves in the same city 25 years later with hilarious consequences.

A series of mistaken identities, assumed personas, and wild mishaps bring a family crisis – so complicated that time itself loses the plot –
into heart-warming focus, with hopefully, the audience being always one step ahead.

Tei Williams, of Propeller, said: “It is the ideal introduction, not only to Shakespeare, but also to the thrill and excitement of theatre. The ensemble of experienced Propeller actors creates a relaxed and engaging atmosphere in which to enjoy the performance, as well encouraging the audience to give a frank and uninhibited response in an open talk-back session afterwards.”

The play will run from 7.30pm on February 27.

Tickets £10 and £12. Phone 01926 419555 or go to www.playboxtheatre.com
