Lighthorne Village Hall, 7.30pm: Lighthorne Festival of One-act Plays. As in previous years, groups will be competing for a £500 cash prize plus the right to donate an equal sum to a charity of their choice. Tonight’s performers are Parlour Hen Theatre Company, Kenilworth, Armistice Theatre, Kenilworth and Priory Theatre, Kenilworth. Spa Centre, Leamington, 8pm: Lucy Beaumont, Foster’s Best Newcomer nominee 2014, winner of The BBC New Comedy award, star of BBC 3’s Live at the Electric and Chortle Best Newcomer will be presenting her hugely anticipated debut show. Spend an hour in Lucy’s universe on the North-East coast with her unique blend of surreal, offbeat humour and big belly laughs. Tickets: £12. Pump Room, Leamington, 1pm: Friday Focus talk. Join Janine Fox, an Oxford Brookes University Anthropology student, exploring museum ethnography and world culture collections in Midland’s museums.

This talk will be giving an overview of a collaborative project that is looking at ways in which museums are making, and could be making, ethnography and world culture collections accessible. Free admission.

Hilltop Farm, Fosseway, Hunningham: Hilltop Farm will be holding its second annual Beer and Cider Festival which will feature a wide range of local beers, ciders and perries - and for those that aren’t into beers and ciders, there will also be a selection of wine and cocktails. There will be live music throughout the weekend from a number of local bands including The Peas, Doc Emmett Brown & the Hill Valley Band, Wired and The Pips. We also have Andy Saunders on the decks and solo acoustic sets across the weekend. Delicious local food will be available all weekend, along with lots of fun activities for all the family. St Johns House Museum, Warwick, 7pm: Love’s Labour’s Lost - a Heartbreak Production. Set in the Roaring 20s at a prestigious Oxford college, Heartbreak Productions’ musical adaptation promises to be a fun frolic through the life and loves of three young men. Initially forgoing food, sleep and their hectic social life to enhance their pursuit of knowledge, all good intentions dissolve and distractions arise with the arrival of three delightful young ladies. As worthy principles crumble and relationships develop, who will come on top in this light-hearted battle of the sexes?

St Francis of Assisi Church Hall, Warwick Road, Kenilworth, 10am to 4pm: Hansons Auctioneers and Valuers a welcome their coin and militaria expert Don Collins who will be joining Charles Hanson and his team of Valuers to their Kenilworth Free Valuation day. Mr Collins is an expert in all things coin and medal related and is seeking entries for his next specialist auction on 24th August. He will be looking for early hammered coinage, gold coins, coin sets and possibly even a 1933 one penny which can be worth in excess of £25,000. Medals are also sought and being the 200th anniversary of Waterloo he hopes to find some Waterloo medals (one sold in his last sale for £1,600). From Victorian campaign medals to the First World War and of course the Second World War seventy years on, all medals and relating to these historic events are keenly sought.
