Young filmmakers learn the ropes at Warwick Arts Centre

YOUNG cinephiles are being given the chance to make their own film at Warwick Arts Centre this summer.

Coventry filmmaker Dom Breadmore will show the ropes to participants in the centre’s Make it Reel film school and they will then be set the tough challenge of creating a five-minute film in groups of five - in just five days.

From the first moment of inspiration, right through to the premiere screening, four films will be devised, scripted, storyboarded, rehearsed, shot, edited, soundtracked, mixed and mastered in one week.

For inspiration, the youngsters will be shown a selection of top short films to talk about in their groups.

And to end the summer school in true big-screen, red carpet style, friends and family will be invited to view the final products at a world premiere on the Friday afternoon.

The summer film school, for 11 to 16-year-olds, takes place from Monday August 22 until Friday August 26. The course is now fully booked but people wishing to attend can call the box office in case of returns on 024 7652 4524.
