The restaurant, Number Six Castle Street, has been bought by a group of friends who all live locally and share a love of fine food and drink.

Operations director Andrew Paul, managing front of house, said Number Six had undergone a stylish transformation to create a chic cocktail bar and contemporary dining experience.

Andrew said: “This lovely restaurant has now become a part of me and I am so proud to be such an integral member of the team that has developed this idea to a reality. I honestly believe we have something a little different from other restaurants in the town and it’s a joy to welcome local guests and of course many of our town’s visitors.”

Andrew is passionate about serving classic and contemporary cocktails and with the summer now here believes that Number Six will soon become “The Place” to meet friends for an after work cocktail and to enjoy a meal from the a la carte menu.

The head chef is Phillip Allott who has worked at the Bluebell in Henley, Rhubarb in Leamington, Charringworth Manor Hotel, near Chipping Campden and The Manor House in Moreton in the Marsh.

Phil and his team have put the emphasis on contemporary British food, with a few global influences. They aim to make full use of local produce in their dishes and to represent a number of local artisan suppliers.

Phil said: “I am a fairly straightforward chef and I don’t believe in messing around with food too much.”
