Ocelot orders

RADFORD Semele company Force Protection Europe Ltd - which shares a site with Ricardo - has won a multi-million pound contract to supply the army with a new lightly-armoured vehicle to replace the Snatch Land Rover.

Prototypes of an all-terrain vehicle called the Ocelot, have won the approval of army chiefs after complaints that the Snatch was not offering enough protection to troops, many of whom lost their lives as a result of roadside bombs.

More than 50 new jobs are likely to be created in Radford Semele as a result of the order.
