Rugby town centre springs back to life with haircuts, pints and ice creams galore

The lifting of some of the lockdown restrictions mean that many of our town's independent businesses have been able to reopen

Haircuts, Italian ice cream and a lunchtime pint were among the treats on offer to Rugbeians as they flocked to the town centre today, April 12.

Not an empty seat could be seen at the barbers and hairdressers, while many enjoyed a pint outside the Lawrence Sheriff pub.

Maia Gelato seemed a particular favourite, with the socially-distanced queue snaking out of the door and the outdoor seating area full of customers.

The Advertiser was hoping to stop in and have a chat with some of the businesses - but crowds of customers meant we thought it best to leave staff to get on with what looks to be a brilliant day of trading.
