Dom Littlewood comes to Rugby's newest secondary school to make BBC programme

Rugby’s newest secondary school is set to feature on BBC One TV programme ‘Dom Digs In’, which will air for the first time this Thursday, May 5.

The programme, hosted by Dom Littlewood will explore the construction of the brand-new Houlton School ahead of opening to its very first Year 7 pupils in September 2021.

Located in the Grade II listed former Rugby Radio Station, the 11-18 academy is positioned in the heart of Urban&Civic’s new residential development at Houlton.

The new school will boast purpose-built sccience, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and humanities buildings, as well as a Sport England compliant sports centre that will be available for community use.

There will also be a professional grade radio studio that will broadcast from the site, honouring the campus' heritage as a global centre for communication.

Michael McCulley, Principal Designate at Houlton School, which will be part of the Transforming Lives Educational Trust (TLET), said: “It was a privilege to welcome Dom and his team for a tour of our brand-new school and to show him the wonderful facilities that we will have to offer.

“As we get closer to opening our doors in September, it becomes more and more exciting to see all of our plans coming together.

"Not only are the building works progressing well, but we now have a fantastic staff team in place and are getting all of the finer details confirmed in preparation for welcoming our new pupils.”

Dom Digs In, featuring Houlton School, will be aired on BBC One at 11am on Thursday 6th May and on BBC Two at 6am on Friday 7th May.
