Legacy of the Olympics is kept strong by project

The Olympic Mascot project, organised by Warwickshire Sports Partnership, involved youngsters creating scrap books about Games’ mascots Mandeville and Wenlock and how they stayed active after the events in the summer.

To conclude the project Campion School hosted a sports and creative work event which was based around the Games and the forthcoming Rio Olympics in 2016.

The children were challenged to design a new outfit for Mandeville to wear in Rio 2016 and to design a ‘legacy logo for the partnership with Emscote Infant School and St Margaret’s the respective competition winners.

Wheelchair rugby player and paralympian Mandip Shemi was a guest speaker and showed a presentation about his experiences of London 2012.

Warwick and Leamington MP Chris White was taken around the event by a team of young leaders.
