Literary characters boost library funds
Famous literary characters leapt out of the books to raise money for a new library at Telford Junior School in Leamington.
Pupils dressed up as their favourite character and took part in a sponsored fun run during the school’s book week. The school is part of a county project to replace outside classrooms, and a new classroom will be built on the decommissioned swimming pool site, with a library. But money is needed to stock it, shelve it and hopefully bring in an ICT research facility. The fundraising by the school’s parents’ association has so far raised more than £3,000.
