'This is how the virus spreads' - four men given Covid fines for driving from Wolverhampton to see a friend in Leamington

Four men have been given Covid fines for driving from Wolverhampton to see a friend in Leamington.

The vehicle caught the attention of nearby officers after police records showed it had no insurance.

When the car was stopped, the officers realised the four men were also in breach of the Covid regulations.

"All four have been fined for a clear breach of the lockdown - this is how the virus spreads," said a spokesperson for Warwickshire Police.

"Whilst there is hope with the vaccine we are not out of this yet and we all must continue to play our part and stay home."
