A COMMUNITY feast of fun, games and live music is coming to a village pub near Rugby.

The Boat Beer and Boogie Bash at the Boat Inn on the Rugby Road, Birdingbury Wharf will take place on Saturday, May 21 and raise money for Help For Heroes, the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and the Rabbit and Guinea-Pig Sanctuary (RAGS).

The festival will feature a variety of family fun including games, live music and stage performances from a mix of established band, solo artists and young performers. So far there are now at least 14 bands and artists lined up to perform.

The Boat Beer and Boogie Bash has been organised in collaboration with Paul Rugman, The Boat Inn, Birdingbury Wharf and SoundCrew’s events director and lead singer for the Jack Band, Janie Jones.

Janie said: “Our aim is to provide local communities and towns with an opportunity to get together and have fun at a beautiful venue and to really get involved with live music and stage performance.

“Accomplished and established artists will perform alongside new, up and coming young talent from the area and further afield.

“It’s a unique and invaluable opportunity for everyone to share, whether behind the scenes, out in the audience or taking the limelight.”

As well as live music there will also be a play area for children, food and drink, stalls, activities, inflatable pirate ship and bouncy castle and face painting.

Representatives from RAGS will also be there with giant Alice In Wonderland-style rabbits.

Tickets cost £10 and include a food and drink voucher for the festival bars (terms and conditions apply). Children under 12 can get in free if accompanied by an adult.

There will also be free camping facilities available but there is limited spaced so booking is required.
