New Volvo V40 creates a buzz

Since Volvo Car Corporation unveiled the its all-new premium five-door, five-seat hatchback, the Volvo V40 at the Geneva Motorshow, enquiries are flooding in to TMS Coventry.

“We all thought this car would generate a huge amount of interest but we have been quite stunned with the volume of enquiries,” said managing director Len Hallows. “We think the order book will soon be bulging.”

Forward-thinking customers who place orders with the sales teams at TMS Coventry in London Road, will take delivery of their new vehicles from September.

The new V40 features world firsts such as the Volvo Car Corporation’s groundbreaking Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake whilst Volvo’s City Safety low-speed collision avoidance system has been further developed and it now operates at speeds up to 31 mph (currently 19mph on other models). Not surprisingly, the new V40 is aiming for a full star rating in the new, tougher 2012 Euro NCAP safety tests

An agile chassis delivers class-leading driving dynamics whilst performance is delivered from a wide choice of engines from the brand’s first diesel with CO2 emissions of just 94 g/km to the turbocharged T5 petrol engine with 254 hp and acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 6.7 seconds.

All engine versions feature start-stop and braking energy regeneration, no matter whether they are fitted with a manual or automatic gearbox.

Designed to be a head-turner, the new V40 has a low and wide front look with a bold, expressive grille and an overall sporty feel.
