Kenilworth's life in lockdown is being captured in heartwarming doorstep portraits.

Will Johnston, 36, has compiled shots of families smiling together through the coronavirus crisis.

The uplifting snaps are being shared on social media so that families and friends can feel close to those they love.

The photos are free but Will asks for donations to be made to charity.

The award-winning photographer had not picked up his camera for a month after the pandemic put paid to his freelance work.

Will, whose wife Nicky, 36, is a keyworker, said: “I’d had weeks of no work and I was feeling a bit sorry for myself being at home with the kids.

“Then I had the idea of capturing families together during these extraordinary times and it’s just taken off.

"I’m bringing a smile to people’s faces and raising money for charity.

“And this project has made me feel useful again.”

Will has been swamped by requests for photos since starting the project..

He stands at the end of the driveway - at least two metres away - as he captures families embracing each other.

Funds are being raised for NHS charities.

Will, dad to Barney, four, and Annie, one, said: “Giving something back is the least I can do.

“And if people are getting nice photos they can share with grannies and grandads who they can’t see, then even better."
