Coffee at Connells helps the homeless

Local estate agency Connells in Chase Meadow recently held a coffee morning to raise money for homeless charities like Shelter, Crisis and Centre Point.

The event was initiated and run by branch manager Julie Welch on behalf of the Estate Agency Foundation, an organisation which fundraises for homeless charities.

Julie said: “It is fantastic to have the opportunity of donating money to causes that are so closely related to the work we do at Connells.

“Every day we help buyers and sellers move home, so raising money to help those without a home get back on their feet and prevent those who might potentially end up homeless is very important.”

The Estate Agency Foundation (EAF) is dedicated to helping eliminate the causes of homelessness. It brings together the whole estate agency community to raise funds for established and recognised charities that work in relevant fields.

In 2011, it aims to raise £100,000 for homeless charities.

Julie added: “Thanks to everyone who came along to our coffee morning in aid of charities like Shelter, Crisis and Centre Point, I hope we will be able to do similar events in the future and give further support to this very worthy cause.”
