“I’m lucky to have the end house, so I’ve a good sized garden and I’ve really enjoyed spending time making it look beautiful.”

Derrick Dyas, chairman of WRHA, said: “We were delighted to win the award as the competition was very tough. Ultimately our job at WRHA is to provide housing for local people. We put our customers first and create homes that people want to live in, but to gain regional recognition is the icing on the cake.”

The homes were built as the result of a partnership between WHRA and Jephson Homes.

Joanne Welch, programme manager at Jephson Homes Housing Association’s Midlands office, said: “This award is testament to our successful partnership with WRHA. There is a desperate need to improve the number of affordable homes in rural areas, and we’re pleased to hear that this scheme has made such a difference to the lives of local people.”

The team receiving the award included client Warwickshire Rural Housing Association, developer Jephson Homes Housing Association, builders Wates Living Space and architects Armstrong Burton.
