A HUGELY popular and talented Rugby band will be playing alongside some top name bands at a up and coming festival.
The 7.20’s have been invited to play on the BBC Introducing Stage at the Wytchwood Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse on Friday, June 3, which will be broadcast live on local BBC stations and BBC 6 Music.
Also playing at the festival will be the Charlatans, the Bluetones, Cornershop and Eddi Reader as well as lots of other bands across the three day event.
Band member Ed Wright said: “No band in town has ever been on a BBC Introducing stage before so it’s pretty big news.”
From the festival the band, featuring Ed (vocals), Seb Roux (guitar), Andy Burnham (guitar), Eddie Burnham (bass) and Steve Kavanagh (drums), will move on to play at the 02 Academy in Birmingham the next day on Saturday, June 4.
Ed said: “Our new songs we recently recorded are going to be available at our gigs. They’ve already had ace reviews.”
A blog entry on the BBC Introducing website reads: “‘You Don’t Know...’ is stuck in my head and I can’t help but play it on BBC Introducing. Seriously addictive songs. Should come with a health warning.”
A reviewer on the TunA Day website said the song “could be the best tune to be released this year.”
Other 7.20’s gigs coming up include performances at Rosie Malones in Coventry on Friday, June 10, Kasbah Club in Coventry on Saturday, June 25 and Friday, July 15 where they will be the headline act. The will also be performing at the Big Pig Festival in Lilbourne from July 29 to 31 and at the Coventry Revival Festival on Friday, August 19.
