Leon aims high with a song for latest 007 film

Leon Rolyat, 48, who lives in Regent Street, has sent his song Die Anna to film maker Metro Goldwyn Mayer in the hope it will be used as the opening track for 007’s next adventure.

He also wants his play on words to be the film’s title.

Leon said: “My producer Matt Waddle gave the song a James Bond-feel and I put it forward to MGM.

“I’m a big fan of the film. I like the luxury he lives in and they are very action packed. It would be the ultimate to have the song used for the film.”

Leon wrote Die Anna when he was just 14 but did not take up music seriously until recently.

The song features on his second album Too High – a follow-up to his debut record Bar Code, which was released last year to raise money for Children in Need.

Leon, whose songs are accompanied by blind keyboard player Phil King, said: “I’ve just realised I have got a real talent for music.

“My nephews have been raving about Bar Code and it made me realise I’m not bad.

“I’m very excited. I’ve been getting some good feedback about Too High from my friends and they say the first two tracks are their favourite songs from the two albums.

Leon’s lyrical content varies from UFOs to everyday life. Die Anna is a song about death while Keep Your Heart Open is a love ballad.

Too High includes 19 tracks and some will be made available by Fratbrothaz Records to download on iTunes.

Leon is giving away both of his albums for free and wants people to make as many copies as they like.
