May Day, Dunchurch 1933

We’re looking back to 1933 for this week’s picture. Thank you to Sheila Draper for sharing it with us.

It’s the May Day celebration on Dunchurch Village Green. The pianist on the lorry is Miss Kimber (Mrs Borsley) and the seated May Queen is Nancy Pratt, with possibly Cynthia Walden.

The attendants (from left) were Edna Collins, Betty Smith, Mary Butlin, Sheila James (now Draper), Lily Back and David Tressler (seated), Albert Barnacle, Denis Payne and Bertie West.

Do you recognise anyone?
