St Patrick’s night dance 1948

This might have been appropriate to print in March, but this is a St Patrick’s night dance from 1948.

It’s been shared with us by Finola Coy, who was able to date it because her father, Pat Geraghty, went on his own. Finola’s oldest sister Maureen would only have been three months old at the time, so her mother would have stayed at home to look after her.

Pat is crouched in the second row, wearing the rosette.

Finola remembers the two ladies in the front on the far right of the picture are Nancy Kent (nee Smyth) and Angela Quealy.

The dance was possibly at the Co-op Hall.
