The Animals hope to come a Cropper at Leamington Assembly

THE band that brought us House of the Rising Sun are rocking their way to Leamington this summer.

The Animals will play at the Assembly on Friday September 9, fronted by Stax Records legend Steve Cropper.

The Animals and friends open the show with classic Animals hits and then play with their special guest Steve Cropper, performing the world wide smash hit songs he wrote and performed with Booker T and the MG’s, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett and The Blues Brothers.

The Animals were the second British band to top the American charts after The Beatles with the now multi-million selling and legendary anthem House of the Rising Sun.

The band subsequently achieved over twenty global top ten hits. In Britain alone, the band had no less than twelve chart entries.

They continue to draw sell out crowds, and recently toured with Gimme Some Lovin’ star Spencer Davis around the UK and Scandinavia.

Steve Cropper has been ranked in a poll as the 2nd best guitarist of all time behind Jimi Hendrix, and has been credited as the inventor of black southern funk guitar.

Tickets for the show are £20 and for more information go online. www.leamingtonassembly.co.uk
