For nearly ten years, residents have taken part in a monthly countryside walk organised by Richard and Chris Freeman who live in Church Road, Church Lawford.

The walk held this month on October 29 was significant as it was the 100th one to have taken place.

To mark the occasion, Chris baked gingerbread men and a chocolate cake both carrying designs iced in the form of ramblers with backpacks.

Walkers enjoyed the sweet treats and wine during their walk on the Welcome Hills near Stratford – at which point grateful thanks were expressed in the form of a toast to Richard and Chris for the hard work they have both put in to organising the monthly walks.

Richard is also an active member of Rugby U3A, taking part in two of the rambling groups in addition to organising the ‘Long Distance Footpath’ group.
