A call for help to teach others IT skills at Leamington centre

Leamington’s Brunswick Healthy Living Centre is looking for volunteers to help people gain IT skills as part of a national programme to help the 8 million people in the UK who are not already using the internet to learn how to do so.

Centre director Tracey Neumann said: “We all know how tough things are at the moment, so please take a minute to think how tough it is when you do not have the IT skills you need to access services. If you have those skills, please join us and help others. In return you will have laughter, team working and a great sense of achievement.”

Isobel Jonas, lead project officer for the programme, said: “Without access to the internet, people are missing out on a vital source of information. This programme can help them make the most of the opportunities they have to offer, whether it be making online benefit claims, or Skyping with the grandchildren.”

Those interested in volunteering are asked to call Emma Alaball on 422123 or email [email protected]
