There’s only one place to be this Saturday for a packed programme of fun, music and activities - Dunchurch Fete.

The village will be a sea of noise and colour when the popular annual event takes place in the closing event of Dunchurch Festival.

Crowds of all ages will once again gather to enjoy the parade and many attractions including music, entertainment, side shows, stalls and a barbecue.

Saturday’s attractions included weird and wonderful costumes and the theme for this year is Horrible Histories.

Mike Judge, MC on the day, said: “We’re expecting a huge turn out this year due to the quality of the acts on our programme.

“It’s a wonderful village event that attracts people from all over.”

The day kicks off with Lawrence Sheriff Big Band, with lead singer Billy Kyle.

“Close your eyes and you’d think it was Frank Sinatra,” added Mike.

The procession starts just after opening at 1pm, with a float and fancy dress competition followed by a parade through the village.

After this there is a varied programme of entertainments on the sports field.

Attractions include Dunchurch Band, open mic, Tan.Trum, Punch & Judy, donkey rides, mini go-karts, tombola, art exhibition, bar, afternoon tea and live music with Ol’ Rosie at Dunchurch Village Hall at 7.30pm.

There’s also a beer festival at The Dun Cow until June 22 with the Bavarian Oompah Band by Bier Keller (Friday night).
