FIRST-TIME house buyers need to act now if they want to buy before the government’s stamp duty break comes to an end.
Sean Newman, CEO of Newman Property Services in Rugby, said prospective first time house buyers could save themselves a potential £2,500 by buying before the March 24 deadline.
Stamp duty tax – one per cent of the property price – will have to be paid on properties costing between £125,000 and £250,000 from March 25 this year.
Sean said: “If buyers want to beat the deadline, they need to start looking for property now.
“In order to find the right house, get a survey completed and a mortgage agreed, they’re going to have to act fast to complete before March 24.”
The stamp duty holiday was introduced as part of the 2010 budget to give first-time buyers a helping hand to get on the property ladder.
Newmans offer a wide selection of property to suit every budget.
