Alleged Kenilworth hit-and-run victim wants to thank mystery witness

Jim Evans, of Queens Road, was not with his car when the alleged collision happened on Friday February 12, and would not have been able to give any information to the police were it not for the mystery witness reporting the incident, as nearby CCTV was switched off.

Mr Evans said: “I just wanted to thank them for doing it. It was really good of them, particularly at that time of night. Maybe in a few months I’ll be able to get some information.

“Unfortunately, police rules forbid them to divulge names and addresses to enable me to thank them in person.”

Mr Evans said he had parked his car for a few hours in Barrack Street in Warwick while attending a 50th birthday party.

When he returned to his car, he said it was about two metres away from where it was originally parked and the back bumper was hanging off after another car had apparently hit it. The front had also been damaged after the collision.
