Churchover man Andrew Robinson is running 66 miles around the Isle of Wight to raise money for charity.
He is taking on the challenge with running partner Pete Little in honour of a close friend who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The pair initially set themselves an objective to raise £1,000 for Prostate Cancer UK, but have already more than doubled this.
Andrew said: “Pete and I have been overwhelmed by the generosity of people wanting to support us. It really does help us when on a cold, wet training run to realise just how much people want to help us.”
He said training is well underway and has included a 27 mile run through rain and hailstorms.
Last weekend saw the pair in North Wales managing to climb eight mountains in two days.
Andrew said: “We are both determined to succeed and raise as much as we can for this important charity, whether we run, jog, walk or even crawl across the finish line, I am sure that it will be the most amazing – and exhausting – experience!”
