Appeal for witnesses over Leamington attack

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward to help them investigate an attack on a teenager at a Leamington nightclub.

An 18 year-old man suffered facial injuries, including a fractured cheekbone, when he was assaulted by an unknown man he had been arguing with outside the men’s toilets at Smack in Tavistock Street in the early hours of Sunday April 27.

The assault happened near the main entrance to the building at about 2.15am and both men were removed from the premises by door staff.

The offender is described a being white, aged 19 to 20 years old, 5ft 5ins to 5ft 9ins tall, of average build and with short brown hair. He was wearing a purple short-sleeved T-shirt.

Police staff investigator Paul Gaston would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault or the argument, or has any information which would help with his inquiries.
