Arrest after fatal collision on M40 in Warwickshire
The collision took place on the southbound carriageway between junctions 11 and 12 of the motorway between Gaydon and Banbury at about 5am.
The driver of the HGV, a 62-year-old man from Lincolnshire, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Hide AdFollowing questioning he has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The investigation into the collision is still in its early stages and officers are appealing for witnesses in order to progress their enquiries.
The collision is believed to have occurred when an HGV and a white VW Polo travelling in the same direction were in collision.
The VW Polo is believed to have lost control and hit the central barrier before coming to rest.

The driver of the white VW Polo died as a result of the collision.
The driver of the BMW was uninjured and was checked over by ambulance paramedics as a precaution.
