OLYMPIC fever swept Clifton Primary School on Monday when pupils met David Moorcroft OBE.
David was a successful 1,500m and 5,000m runner in the 1970s and 80s and was awarded an OBE in 1998 for his services to athletics. He started running when he was at primary school and then he represented his secondary school.
David said that it is fantastic to represent your country and he felt really proud when he got his Team GB kit.
He is very busy helping with the London 2012 Olympics. He still likes running and he also plays tennis and golf.
