Attempted abduction of teenage girl in Rugby

Police were called shortly after 10.20pm yesterday following a report that a man attempted to abduct a 16-year-old girl on Holbrook Avenue, Rugby.

The girl was approached by a man who took hold of her by the arm and told her to go with him. She managed to get away from him and is safe and well.

The man is described as 5ft 5ins tall and of slim build. He was wearing dark clothing with a hood up and clothing covering his face. He left the area in a small hatchback car.

Detective Sergeant Sean Tonelli said: “This man has put the young girl through a frightening ordeal and we need to trace him. Fortunately these type of incidents are rare but there are extra patrols in the area while enquiries continue.”
