POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery that occurred as a man was walking home from the Central Park Drive shops near Aldi in Rugby.

The man was walking along the footpath/alleyway near the junction of Coton Park Drive and Stonechat Road on Thursday at 8.20pm when a small silver car pulled up alongside him.

The driver got out and pushed him several times demanding cash. He managed to run off along the alleyway and nothing was stolen.

Although the thief claimed to have a knife, no weapon was seen and no injuries were suffered.

The thief is described as a 5’8” tall white male with short brown hair and a local accent. He was wearing a grey top.
